Into Autumn
Walking into Landscapes series
How often do we stop to watch change happening?
I would suggest not often enough, for our lives seem to be primed to never pause, and to always focus on the future, to look forward.
But what if we stopped and rather looked up, and around us, at the changing trees, the sharpening light, at the birds, the insects and animals as they adapt to the shifting seasons. To breathe in the new scents of autumn and winter, to embrace the cooling wind, to watch as leaves flutter to the ground around our feet, to celebrate nature’s unfolding.
So this week’s painting is more than a conversation about the beauty of trees and the coming of winter, it is a reminder to pause, to notice.
And instead of resisting, to rather flow with it, to celebrate the beauty of change, around us, above us, and in our own lives.
For it is when we start to notice change that this present moment becomes even more special.
